Portable VHF 'Olha' is equipped with DSC and meets the requirements for GMDSS equipment. Radio station 'Olha' can be used for two-way simplex radio frequencies in the maritime mobile service between VHF marine vessels, ships and shore facilities, receiving and transmitting the call of distress, urgency and safety system GMDSS
using digital selective calling (DSC), as well as for communications on inland and mixed (river-sea) and to communicate with the aircraft.
 
The radio station provides radio communication in the following radio bands:
  • with seagoing and shore-based facilities in the GMDSS range from 156 to 158 MHz, class of emission F3E / G3E
  • with inland and mixed (river-sea) in the frequency range from 300.025 to 300.225 MHz and 336.025 MHz to 336.225, the class of emission G3E
  • with aircraft at 121.5 and 123.1 MHz, the class of emission A3E
  • transmission and reception of calls of distress, urgency and safety of using DSC on channel 70 (156.525 MHz), G2B class of emission
