Why perform maintenance?

Why perform maintenance?

Key benefits of regular maintenance and preventive servicing:

  • Preventive servicing helps identify minor defects (wear, corrosion), reducing repair costs;
  • Maintenance enables advance planning of work and spare parts procurement, avoiding unplanned vessel downtime and related losses due to cargo delays;
  • Regular lubrication, oil changes, and compliance with operating conditions significantly slow down physical wear of machinery and hull, thereby extending equipment service life;
  • Regular maintenance ensures compliance with classification society requirements and international conventions, eliminating fines and vessel delays in ports.
