Furuno VSAT FV-100
Furuno VSAT FV-100 - marine satellite VSAT system Ku-band. It consists of an antenna unit in a radome with a reflector diameter of 1 meter and a 19-inch rack assembly (optional or local power supply) that contains an antenna communication unit, a satellite router, a switching hub (for iDirect X5, KVH / VIASAT), VoIP- Switch (optional, for iDirect units). Each unit can be connected to share power from the UPS (uninterruptible power supply), ensuring trouble-free operation, even if the main power source of the ship does not work.
The FV-100 provides the ability to receive a signal with basic and transverse polarization. The satellite VSAT terminal supports automatic beam switching (ABS) and iDirect and provides broadband communication that can be used for a wide range of applications, including both operational and social purposes, VPN networks, the Internet (web browsing, e-mail) , VoIP, high-quality real-time video transmission, two-way video conference, on-board monitoring, chart update, remote control system for ships, etc. Access to the Internet is possible when connecting to a PC in the system. An additional analog phone provides voice communication over the land line.
The main features of the system are:
- Always connected infrastructure between ships and the ground network;
- A hassle free high-speed broadband connection;
- Telephone communication by IP-phone.
- Urgent payment for a fixed rate allows a long time of communication without worrying about the price.
- Allows the normal use of the Internet, just like a conventional terrestrial connection
