FURUNO VR-3000
The FURUNO VR-3000 flight data recorder is designed to record and archive information received from a variety of sensors and sensors on board the ship. This information proves invaluable in the investigation and analysis of maritime incidents. The main difference between the standard flight data recorder and its simplified version is the amount of data recorded: the standard recorder captures more information. According to the updated Chapter V of the SOLAS Convention, flight data recorders are mandatory for installation on passenger ships with a cargo capacity of over 150 tons carrying out any flights, as well as on ships with a cargo capacity of over 3,000 tons making international flights, and on new ships built after July 1, 2002. FURUNO VR-3000 is designed to record up-to-date navigation information, bridge conversations and VHF radio communications.
