Furuno SC-70
Furuno SC-70
The Furuno SC-70 satellite compass is designed for small and medium-sized vessels that require highly accurate course information. This compass provides integration with various ship systems such as radar, ECDIS, AIS, Doppler lag and auto steering, which significantly improves their accuracy and functionality. The course signals are transmitted using advanced GNSS (Global Navigation satellite System) technologies and data from the Galileo and GLONASS systems.

Main Features:
  • Maintenance-free: Provides long-term reliability without the need for regular maintenance.
  • Course accuracy: 0.4, which makes it ideal for small and medium-sized vessels.
  • Using Galileo and GLONASS GNSS: It allows you to receive signals from various types of satellites, which eliminates the problem of missing a signal due to an insufficient number of satellites.
  • Ultra-short initialization time: Only 90 seconds, which ensures quick availability.
  • Convenient Ethernet connection: Easily integrates into the existing ship network.
  • High tracking speed: 40/s, which is twice the IMO requirements for high-speed vessels.
  • High-precision data on on-board and pitching: In analog and digital formats for pitching stabilizers and sonars.
  • Speed control of bow and stern movement: Ensures safe mooring.
  • Simple modification: Using an existing antenna cable (for SC-50/55/60/110/120 models, an additional LAN_CNV kit is required).

Main Features:
  • Reception frequency: 1575.42 MHz (GPS/Galileo), 1602.5625 MHz (GLONASS)
  • Capture code: C/A code (GPS), E1B (Galileo), 1OF (GLONASS)
  • The accuracy of determining the speed of the vessel (SOG): 0.02 knots standard deviation (when tracking at least 5 satellites)
  • The accuracy of determining the ship's speed (VBW, SOG): 0.2% of the ship's speed or 0.02 knots (when tracking at least 5 satellites)
  • Course accuracy: 0.4 standard deviation
  • Tracking speed: 40/s
  • Location detection time: 90 seconds
  • The accuracy of determining the angular position: Side and keel pitching: 0.4 standard deviation
  • Angular resolution: Selectable in the menu, the standard value is 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001 are also available
  • Rotation speed: Selectable in the menu, the standard value is 0.1, 0.01 and 0.001/min are also available
  • Power supply: 12-24V DC, current consumption: 2.1A/-1.1A (including antenna unit and display unit)

Ambient temperature:
  • Antenna unit: -25 to +55C (storage: up to +70C)
  • Display unit/junction box: -15 to +55C

Furuno SC-70 provides high reliability and accuracy of navigation information, which allows ships to safely and efficiently manage traffic even in difficult sea conditions.

Navigational errors Navigational errors Navigation instruments rarely show true readings. The sum of errors of instruments and methods affects the accuracy of navigation and should be adjusted taking into account a sufficient safety margin
