The double-scale direction-finding repeater 19-РШМ3 is used as a repeater of information about the ship's heading coming from the gyrocompass, as well as together with the direction finder PGK-2 to determine the compass bearings of terrestrial objects and celestial bodies visible from the ship, as well as to take heading angles. It is installed on the open deck of sea and river vessels with the help of a pelorus.
