Data distribution unit (DDU) is a major component CompasNet HMS system. Designed to interconnect all parts CompassNet through specialized Ringbus Ethernet interface. The unit is designed with a dual-processor architecture that provides a safe and trouble-free operation and the possibility of connecting additional navigation equipment. Data distribution unit has two slots disposed within the housing that are used to implement the two processor modules. Implemented using two processing units, CompassNet system remains operational, if a processor module fails. All CompassNet systems have more than one kursoukazatlya, so initially need two processor unit.
 
LEDs and manual switching buttons are located on the upper side of the CPU module and designed for reading the operating status of the device. Moreover, in case of failure NAVITWIN V, the operator can control the data distribution unit manually.
 
The device complies with the requirements of IEC 60945 and IEC 60529.
