Update SSAS Test Rules

Starting from May 13, 2024, the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Morsvyazsputnik" will cease the execution of contracts related to the registration in the Ship Security Alert System (SSAS), including services for the verification of the operational status of shipboard SSAS equipment and the issuance of confirmations of equipment registration at the Monitoring and Security Alert Center. Important information for shipowners includes:

• Registration of SSAS equipment in the monitoring system is no longer required.
• Confirmation of SSAS equipment registration in paper or digital form is not needed.
• The address ssas.victoria@marsat.ru should be removed from the list of addresses for message transmission.
• The primary address for the delivery of SSAS messages should be the email address of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) – od_smrcc@morflot.ru.
• The programming of a personal or work email address to receive SSAS messages from the person responsible for ship safety is permitted.
• It is necessary to continue maintaining the SSAS equipment in working condition and to conduct testing once a year before the annual inspection by the class inspector.
