From January 1, 2019, the ADN-2019 Regulations entered into force.
According to the transitional provisions of the Rules of ADN-2019 (Article 8, Chapter I), previously issued documents prepared in accordance with the requirements of the Rules for the Transport of Dangerous Goods on the Rhine (ADNR), the Rules for the Transport of Dangerous Goods on the Danube (ADN) or national regulations based on European requirements for the international carriage of dangerous goods by inland waterway, before the expiration of their validity periods under the conditions specified in the ADN Rules 2019 (however, such certificates remain valid for one year and from the date of entry into force of the ADN-2019 Regulations, if they expire during this period.
Subject to the provisions of 126.96.36.199 of the ADN-2019 Regulation, unless otherwise prescribed, substances and articles covered by ADN may be transported until 30 June 2019 in accordance with the requirements of ADN effective until 31 December 2018.
In accordance with the foregoing, the “Rules for the Inspection of Inland Navigation Vessels in Operation” (for European inland waterways) are amended as specified in the annex. These changes will be made to the Rules when they are reprinted.
