NGSM NAVIKNOT 350E, 450D, 600S, 600SE, 600SD
Sperry Marine offers a series of Speed Logs called Naviknot, including the Naviknot 350E, 450D, 600S, 600SE and 600SD models.
Naviknot 350E is an electromagnetic lag with high accuracy and reliability. It uses an electromagnetic sensor that generates an alternating electromagnetic field when water passes through it. The movement of the vessel in the water creates an electric field perpendicular to the magnetic field and the vector of the vessel's motion. The signal from the sensor is converted to digital format and displayed on the indicator.
The Naviknot 450D is a Doppler lag that uses the Doppler effect to measure the speed of a ship. The sensor sends pulses, and the delay between the received pulses determines the vector and speed of the vessel.
Naviknot 600S is a satellite lag. It uses signals from GPS satellites to determine the longitudinal and transverse velocity of the vessel relative to the ground.
The Naviknot 600SE and 600SD are combined devices that combine satellite ship speed detection with electromagnetic or Doppler methods.
