AIS-CHZB (Man Overboard)
AIS-CHZB, or a personal emergency device of the automatic identification system “man overboard”, is used for quick and reliable notification of emergency situations of ships located in the disaster area or rescue coordination centers (SCCS) capable of providing assistance. It is also used to coordinate search and rescue, to exchange messages between the SCC and the heads of search and rescue operations at the accident site, and to exchange messages between ships via VHF radiotelephone at a certain frequency to ensure the safety of navigation.
