Excerpt from the requirements of the Russian River Register for equipping ships with navigation equipment.
Notes
1. If there is a remote transfer of readings, including optical, from the main (main) magnetic compass to the main control station, the track (spare) compass can be omitted.
2. Vessels of class "M" with a length of less than 20 m and vessels of class "O", not equipped with a traveling (spare) compass, are equipped with a boat magnetic compass with a diameter of at least 75 mm.
3. On ships where the installation of a magnetic compass is not foreseen, when installing a boat magnetic compass, the diameter of the card should provide reading from a distance of at least 70 cm.
4. Only on passenger ships and vessels carrying dangerous goods, regardless of gross tonnage.
