Satellite compass ComNav received TAC RMRS

We are pleased to announce that the satellite compass (remote heading transmission device, type "G2") manufactured by COMNAV (Canada) has received a Type Approval Certificate (STO) in the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

The Canadian company COMNAV has been creating trends in the maritime navigation market for over 30 years.

The remote heading transmission device, type "G2/G2B" is intended for use on sea-going vessels as navigation equipment.

 

To date, this is the only satellite compass that has passed tests in the RMRS for the range of operating temperatures:

From -50 ° С to + 55 ° С - for units installed on an open deck.

In order to ensure the operability of navigation equipment, the following applies:

  • ships must have two means of non-magnetic determination and indication of their course. Both facilities must be independent from each other and must be powered from the main and emergency shipboard power sources;

  • ships sailing beyond 80 ° latitude must be equipped with at least one satellite compass or equivalent, which must be powered from the ship's primary and emergency power sources.

  • Navigation equipment and systems must be designed, manufactured and installed so that their functionality is maintained under the expected environmental conditions in the area of ​​operation.

  • The heading and positioning systems must be suitable for the intended navigation areas.
