28.09.2017 We remind you that from July 1, 2018, the Convention on the equipping of sea vessels with portable radio transmissions of two-way communication of explosion-proof or intrinsically safe version having SRT RMRS SOLAS Chapter II-2, regulation 10.10.4 comes into force 

For ships constructed on or after 1 July 2014, a minimum of two two-way portable radiotelephone apparatus for each fire party for fire-fighter's. Those two twoway radiotelephone apparatuses shall be of an explosion-proof type or intrinsically safe. Ships are constructed before July 1, 2014.

The requirement of SOLAS to equip ships with fire fighting equipment:

Chapter II-2 SOLAS requires from each SOLAS regulated vessel built after 1 July 2014 the installation of fire safety equipment before July 1, 2018. Vessels failing to do so may be detained, which entails significant costs and delays in their delivery schedule.

  • Each side on board must be allocated at least two portable radios
  • All fire stations must comply with SOLAS regulations. Otherwise, this may lead to the detention of ships that do not meet the requirements.
  • Fires can occur at any time, so you need to properly install the equipment on board right now.
