ELECTRO-TYFON MTX 150/130 - is a high power of Typhon company Kockum Sonics. Mounted on ships longer than 200 meters. It has an electric drive and can be operated manually. Electrically actuated piston. Fully compliant with the requirements of IMO COLREG 72 requirements. According to the rules of COLREG-72, all vessels of 12 meters in length and over shall be equipped with a sound-signaling device (ship Typhon).

ELECTRO-TYFON MTX 150/130 has a well recognizable sharp sound, which is specially made to fit the requirements of IMO with a set of audio signals for effective warning on board.
It is important to the proper placement of Typhon, that nothing prevented the spread of the sound wave. Even a large deck surface may undesirably affect the propagation of sound like a well-known phenomenon of refraction of light waves. IMO advises to pay special attention to placing the siren on board; and not only for the reasons mentioned above, but also to provide the required safety and permissible sound level at the observation post of the ship. The best solution - this combined system with a siren frequency difference of at least 10 kHz which must be installed in accordance with the IMO.

Material for all parts TYPHON 150/130 chosen to withstand the severe weather disturbances such as corrosion, vibration, etc .. Typhon consists of several moving parts such as 'swinging piston' and oil-free reducer (not used lubricant) .

Important features:
  • asymmetric distribution of the sound;
  • It is working at all ambient temperatures, with no additional measures;
  • It is not subject to voltage and frequency variations;
  • oil-free, ensuring trouble-free operation, corrosion resistant;
  • simple to install;
  • fully complies with the requirements of the IMO in 1972.
Pipe with a unique vertical extension and a specially designed sound range will reduce the noise on the deck by 6-8 dB compared to the conventional siren with a round tube.
ELECTRO-TYPHON MTX 150/130 held by four screws M12. Because Typhon is subject to vibration, for installation requires a flexible electrical cable near the motor. The connector on the M32 engine electrical box for cable ? 17-28 mm. Optional: M25 for cable ? 9-20 mm.
