DEIF WSS 500/550 - wind speed sensor. To determine the horizontal speed and direction of the wind in the device, an ultrasonic sensor is used. The device has no moving parts, so friction, inertia, time constant, speeding, initial threshold do not affect the quality of measurements. A unique triangular sensor array design provides accurate wind measurement from all sides. The sensors do not require maintenance and field calibration. Available in two versions:
The WSS 550 can be used in almost any environment, while the WSS 500 can only be used up to 0 ℃.
WSS 500/550 can be directly connected to the DEIF XDi-N indicator. They are compatible with WSDI-2, WSDI - for which a WSI interface is required. The WSS 500/550 series sensors can be used as accurate stand-alone wind sensors in applications where wind data is used as information, and where a short break due to extreme weather is not critical. The sensor housing is designed to withstand harsh operating conditions on board the vessel. The stainless steel mounting rod with standard ¾ "pipe thread facilitates installation and provides good grounding through the hull of the vessel. The WSS 500/550 has a two-way RS-485 connector for NMEA 0183 communication. Power supply 12 V or 24 V DC (from 9, 0 to 31.2 VDC).
