Furuno FA-150

Furuno FA-150
The FA-150 is a Class A AIS designed to enhance navigation safety by monitoring ships equipped with AIS and exchanging data with shore stations in real time in the VHF coverage area. The FA-150 transponder helps to prevent collisions and improves awareness in difficult marine conditions such as darkness and fog.

The FA-150 fully complies with international standards and requirements, including IMO MSC.74(69), ITU-R M.1371, IEC 60993-2, and IEC 60945/MTSA 2002 - U.S. It is important to note that the FA-150 does not support operation with the GLONASS system.

The FA-150 transponder transmits the following types of data:

  • Static data: MMSI, IMO call sign and name, length and width of the vessel, type of vessel, antenna location on the vessel.
  • Dynamic data: coordinates, UTC time, course (COG), speed (SOG).
  • Flight data: draft, type of dangerous cargo, destination and arrival time.

The FA-150 is equipped with a compact 4.5-inch monochrome AIS display and is easy to operate. Additionally, PC software is available. AIS can be connected to radars (radars), electronic cartographic systems (ECDIS) and other electronic cartographic systems.

Technical specifications:

  • Frequency of transmitter and receiver: 156.025–162.025 MHz
  • GPS reception frequency: 1575.42 MHz
  • GPS accuracy: 10m (with HDOP<= 4)
  • Display: 4.5-inch monochrome

The FA-150 is a reliable and effective solution for improving safety on board a ship.
