Annual inspections are mandatory scheduled inspections and technical maintenance of shipboard equipment in accordance with the requirements of the Classification Society.

Commissioning and Start-Up services

PGM-010 Gyrocompass
Commissioning and start-up works were carried out on board the vessel ALDAN, including:
  • installation of gyrocompass units;
  • routing, securing, and labeling of power cables, signal cables, and grounding;
  • connection to the existing network of heading signal consumers;
  • connection of a GPS signal source to the gyrocompass;
  • start-up of the gyrocompass and verification of its operability;
  • handover of operational documentation to the crew.

The work included:
  • Measuring and recording all key technical parameters before the maintenance;
  • Stopping the device, removing the outer sphere, and replacing consumables (fluid, gaskets, pump rotor);
  • Inspection and cleaning of internal components (container, sphere, contacts);
  • Checking the condition of critical elements (drive belt, cooling fan);
  • Measuring and recording all key technical parameters after completing the maintenance;
  • Verifying the transmission of heading data from the gyrocompass to the vessel’s navigation instruments.

Annual Inspection

GMDSS Equipment for Area A1
The inspection included the following work:
  • Confirmed the operability of the radar transponder, VHF handheld radios, NAVTEX, EPIRB, and other GMDSS equipment;
  • Checked the condition of batteries and confirmed compliance with their expiration dates;
  • Prepared and handed over to the crew the necessary accompanying documentation based on the inspection results.
