Gyrocompass Repair

NAVIGAT X
After assembly and installation of the mechanism on board the vessel PAL-5, a significant heading deviation was observed. During the repair work, the following was performed:
  • Inspection of the gyrocompass and identification of a malfunction in the installation of the gyrocompass card rotation mechanism;
  • De-energizing the gyrocompass for further disassembly;
  • Inspection of the rotation mechanism;
  • Restoration of the gyrocompass card mechanism to the correct position, alignment of the North position in accordance with the technical documentation, synchronization, and start-up of the gyrocompass. The North position was centered and restored;
  • The work was presented to the crew; no remarks were noted.

Restoration of Processor Units

PRAXIS
Restoration of processor units of the PRAXIS alarm and monitoring system:
  • All three units failed to start and the software did not load;
  • The fault was eliminated by replacing defective electronic components;
  • Programming of the processor units was performed;
  • Operational testing of the units;
  • Preparation of the units for installation on board the vessel.
