Documentation:

Furuno PG-500 is an electromagnetic compass with high accuracy and increased stability of measurements. It is designed for operation on fishing and pleasure craft. The PG-500 includes an induction sensor, a three-dimensional monoblock speed gyro sensor, a processor and serial data interfaces. The device has the ability to broadcast course data via NMEA 0183 protocol. When issuing direction data, the device takes into account the Earth's magnetic field. The compass is connected to the on-board network. The model is made in a waterproof case.

Features:

  • Automatic correction for local magnetic declination when connecting a GPS navigator or manual correction using an additional display RD-33
  • Compact waterproof case with visual status indicator
  • Three data ports: two IEC / NMEA and one AD-10 port
  • High data rate transfer rate in the standard IEC 61162-2
  • Unique design elements make the PG-500 virtually maintenance-free and easy to install.

Specifications:

  • Accuracy: 1.5%
  • Sensitivity of the device: 0.1A
  • Magnetic declination: Automatic compensation (GPS receiver required)
  • Magnetic deviation: Automatic calibration
  • three outputs of the course data: two by the IEC / NMEA protocol and one by AD-10
  • suitable for use with the NAVpilot-500 autopilot.
  • Accuracy ± 1.0 ° (excluding magnetic anomalies)
  • Correction Deviation: 360 ° rotation Declination: automatically via GP-32 / GP-1850W or RD-30
  • Side roll and pitching ± 35 °
  • Tracking system 25 ° / sec.
  • Output signal speed IEC 61162, NMEA 0183: selection from 25, 100, 200 ms, 1 sec. For AD-10 format: up to 25 ms.
  • Interface (IEC 61162-1 / 61162-2 *, NMEA-0183, AD-10)
  • Output: HDT (True rate, with deviation compensation and magnetic declination)
  • Input: VTG (SOG, COG), RMC, * only output
  • Temperature: -15 ° С - + 55 ° С.
  • Waterproofness: IPX5 (IEC 60529), CFR-46 (USCG standard)
  • Power supply 12 - 24 VDC, 2 W

Sea trials 14.09.2021 Sea trials
On completion of the HAT, the ship goes for trials. At sea for large ships, inland at sufficient deep and wide water for smaller ships.
