Satellite terminal COBHAM Sailor 4300

13 June, 2017

Satellite terminal COBHAM Sailor 4300Cobham announced the satellite terminal SAILOR 4300 L-band satellite communications.

SAILOR 4300 is made using Broadband Core Transceiver (BCX) technology, created for Iridium NEXT. The terminal will work with applications that handle receiving and sending large amounts of data. SAILOR 4300 will be able to provide high speed Internet access, sufficient for applications that consume large amounts of traffic for video conferencing, VPN, IoT and many other functions. Another useful feature will be the possibility of SAILOR 4300 transparent ("seamless") integration with other satellite systems already on board. In this case, it will be an ideal solution for organizing an economical secondary channel for VSAT and miniVSAT.

SAILOR 4300 promises to be a breakthrough in satellite navigation and an uncompromising solution for global maritime communication in the future. The principle of constructing the Iridium NEXT system will remain the same as the current Iridium network - low Earth orbit satellites with 100% coverage of the Earth.

The availability of its sales is expected in the first half of 2018.
