indicates the ship's speed through the water, using the Doppler principle , the ship's speed is measured by determining the Doppler shift of the signal reflected from the water mass. The output signal format IEC 61162-1 served in ARPA , AIS and other equipment.

Key features of DS- 80 :

• Easy to use . In most cases , all that is required to determine the speed of the vessel - it's just turn on the device .

• A system with a pair of rays effectively reduces the error caused by pitching. Transducer block symmetrically emits two sound beam , one forward and the second ago. Thanks averaging Doppler shift in two directions achieved accurate reading speed in rough sea conditions .

• Information about the speed and distance traveled is shown in the LCD display , which has a contrast control .• You can supply an optional analog display , digital display and digital display of distance traveled.

• Meets resolution IMO A.824 ( 19) and IEC 61023 : 1997.

DS- 80 measures the speed of the vessel by determining the Doppler shift of the echo signal reflected by plankton and other organisms , situated within the measuring area, which typically is about 2 meters. However, in some cases , the reflected signal is absent because of a small amount of plankton into the measuring area. This phenomenon occurs in the spring in the Sea of Okhotsk . Possible reason for this is that the plankton sinks deeper covering the surface of the sea due to the mass of cold water from the melting ice . Similar reasons may be found in freshwater lakes . In such circumstances , DS- 80 is correctly indicate the ship's speed .
